Tempo closes its SIFA 2026 run on Sunday, 17 May, with a 2pm performance at National Library’s Drama Centre Theatre. The 60-minute work by Kalle Nio and Fernando Melo blends theatre, dance, text, music and stage illusion around the feeling of time speeding up, slowing down and briefly standing still.
It is recommended for ages six and above, with tickets listed from S$32.30 before booking fees.

What Makes It Different
The premise starts from everyday near-accidents: falling, stumbling, catching yourself and suddenly becoming aware of how fragile a second can feel. The stage language then pushes that idea through movement, prepared metronomes and illusion.
This should suit audiences who like visual theatre more than dialogue-heavy drama. The performance uses English text, runs without intermission, and includes effects such as strobe lights, smoke and haze.
Planning Notes
Arrive early because the ticketing page warns that latecomers may be unable to enter due to the nature of the programme. The National Library location is convenient by Bras Basah and Bugis MRT, but weekend crowds around Bugis can slow down the final walk.
