Fans of the piano have a rare treat this September. Internationally acclaimed jazz and world music pianist Dan Costa is playing a free recital in Singapore, presented by Bechstein Music World in support of the Embassy of Italy in Singapore.
Billed as Dan Costa Piano Recital 2026: A Journey Through Jazz & World Music, the evening promises an intimate programme performed on the legendary C. Bechstein D282 grand piano. Admission is free, but seats are by reservation, so early registration is a must.

Who is Dan Costa?
Dan Costa is a pianist, composer and educator whose music blends jazz, classical and global influences into a distinctive voice. He has collaborated with a roll-call of greats including Ron Carter, Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, Bob Mintzer, Dave Liebman and Ivan Lins.
A graduate of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney, Costa also studied at Berklee College of Music before pursuing advanced studies in Brazil and Europe. His recordings have earned Gold and Silver Medals at the Global Music Awards, and his performances have reached audiences across six continents. Beyond the stage, he has given masterclasses at the Royal Academy of Music, Monash University and his alma mater in Liverpool.
What is on the programme
Expect a rich blend of Brazilian rhythms, contemporary jazz and world music, drawn largely from Costa’s own compositions. The programme includes Alba, Chorinho, Bossa Nova, Encaminho, Samba, Cypress, Aria, Viewscape, Maracatu, Acalantando, Stardial, Iremia, Modinha and Baião, alongside Love Dance by Ivan Lins and O Barquinho by Menescal and Boscoli. The line-up is subject to change at the artist’s discretion.
