Samsung SmartPlan Singapore starts at S$16 a month for phones, TVs and appliances, repairs included

Samsung SmartPlan Singapore went live on 4 November 2026, and it is Samsung’s attempt to sell you a phone, TV or fridge the way telcos sell you a phone: one fixed monthly amount, with repairs and servicing rolled in. Singapore is the first market in Southeast Asia and Oceania to get it, with the rest of the region to follow progressively.

The headline number on Samsung’s own page is “from S$16 per month”. That figure is for a Top-Load Washer EcoBubble 10kg on a 60-month plan, so it works out to roughly S$960 spread over five years. Before you sign up, here is what you actually get, what it costs you upfront and who it suits.

How Samsung SmartPlan Singapore works

You pick an eligible product on Samsung.com, choose a plan length between 12 and 60 months, and pay one fixed monthly amount covering both the product and its SmartPlan coverage. Delivery and professional installation are included, and Samsung will cart away your old unit. Unlike a rental, the product is yours once the plan ends.

The catch most people will miss: you need a credit card with enough limit. Samsung’s FAQ says the full amount is deducted from your credit limit upfront, the same way an instalment payment plan (IPP) works. The instalment plans are provided by Inbank, so treat it like any other card IPP when you budget.

Plan lengths depend on the category:

  • Phones and tablets: 1-year or 2-year plans
  • TVs: plans start at 4 years
  • Fridges and washing machines: 3 to 5 years

What the care package covers

Every plan includes genuine Samsung parts, labour and transport for eligible repairs. Home electronics and appliances get on-site repairs by Samsung-trained technicians, while phones get free pick-up and delivery. You also get unlimited use of Samsung Remote Service for troubleshooting from home.

The extras differ by product, and this is where you should read closely.

For phones and tablets, you get unlimited cracked screen repairs at fixed fees, diagnostic checks and access to repair services overseas, subject to availability. Galaxy S and Galaxy Z owners also get free screen protector replacements. If you just picked up a Galaxy Z Fold8, that fixed-fee screen cover is the bit worth pricing out.

For TVs, the perks are smaller than they first sound:

  • 15% off panel repairs, but transport, labour and evaluation fees are excluded
  • Two free remote control replacements during the plan
  • One relocation installation (wall-mount or tabletop) when you move house
  • 20% off a Samsung sound device on Samsung.com within six months of buying the TV
  • For The Frame and The Frame Pro: one free bezel replacement and two years of Samsung Art Store, worth S$69.90 a year

So a cracked TV panel is discounted, not free. Factor that in if accident cover is the main reason you are looking at this.

Fridges and washers get scheduled servicing

Appliance plans add professional cleaning and maintenance of key components, with an on-site health check at each visit. You get one visit on a 3- or 4-year plan and two visits on a 5-year plan. There is also a monthly Home Care Report for fridges and washing machines.

Moving into a new BTO or resale flat? You can use one of those visits as a Re-Installation Health Check to confirm the appliance is properly connected after the move. It does not include the actual relocation and installation, and it uses up one of your maintenance visits.

Is it worth it?

For context, the standard warranty is two years on fridges and washers and one year on TVs, so a 5-year appliance plan adds three years of parts and labour cover on top. For a big-ticket fridge or a Frame TV, that is a sensible hedge. It also keeps everything with Samsung, which is simpler than juggling a retailer’s extended warranty.

It makes less sense if you can pay upfront and catch a good sale. Retailers regularly run sharper cuts, as with the recent Courts and Harvey Norman deals, and you would not tie up your card limit for years. For phones, compare it with subscription-style options like Swap Mobile’s six-month phone swaps before committing.

Samsung has not published a full product list or early termination terms on the SmartPlan page yet, so check the monthly price on your exact model and read the T&Cs before you check out.
