Swap Mobile opens its Singapore service on Monday (19 October), adding a StarHub-backed mobile virtual network operator that sells customisable SIM plans and 24-month phone subscriptions with a six-month handset change option. The Swap Mobile app and website are already live, with plans also due through selected partner retailers from the same day.

What the SIM plans cost
Standalone 4G plans start at S$10 a month and 5G plans at S$15. Customers set local data, talk time, SMS and Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand roaming on sliders, and can change the mix once a month.
A launch offer from 15 October to 18 November prices qualifying new sign-ups and selected port-ins at S$1 a month for the first three months, then the usual minimum. Port-ins from China Unicom, Eight, giga, MyRepublic and StarHub are excluded from that S$1 rate.
Every SIM-only plan includes Screen Crack Protect, which covers one authorised screen repair claim a year, capped at S$250. 4G plans also carry 10GB of Asia-Pacific roaming; 5G plans carry 25GB of Asia-Pacific roaming and 10GB of global roaming.

Phones on a subscription
Device Subscriptions pair an Apple, Samsung, Oppo or Vivo handset with a SIM plan and Swap Protect Pro, which covers accidental damage and attended theft on the stated terms. Ownership stays with Swap Mobile for the subscription term.
After six months, a customer can return the handset and start a new 24-month subscription on a different model, or keep the same device to the end of the term. Launch pricing cuts S$10 a month off Device Subscriptions for the first three months when the customer also takes the S$15 SIM plan, again from 15 October to 18 November.
On the Swap Mobile site, promotional Device Subscriptions show from S$5.90 a month against higher usual figures once the launch window ends. Outright purchase and bank instalment options are also available for selected models.
Contract terms that matter
The pitch is for users who want to change phones more often than a typical two-year telco contract allows, and who will accept a fresh 24-month term each time they swap. Flexible SIM-only customers who stay above the S$10 or S$15 floor can reshape data and roaming without switching operators.
It is a weaker fit for anyone who wants to own the handset from day one, or who is porting from a StarHub-group line and expected the S$1 SIM rate. Early exit on a Device Subscription brings early termination charges and outstanding device amounts under Swap Mobile’s published terms.
Sign-up runs through the Swap Mobile website and app, with human support alongside in-app help.
