Changi Airport is now connected to Madrid through Singapore Airlines’ five-weekly service via Barcelona, according to Changi’s official Now Boarding update dated 8 May 2026. For Singapore travellers, that adds a more direct Spain planning option without needing to piece together a separate European connection.
The route is especially useful for travellers building a Spain itinerary around Barcelona and Madrid, because the two cities can now sit naturally in the same flight plan.
How To Use The Route
The practical itinerary is simple: fly from Singapore to Barcelona, continue onward to Madrid on the same routing, then decide whether to return from Madrid or travel back through Barcelona after rail or domestic connections. Spain’s high-speed rail network also makes an open-jaw-style holiday easier to plan.
If you are travelling in July or August, compare total journey time, baggage rules and fare conditions early. European summer demand can push up prices quickly, especially around school holidays and major events.
