Singapore’s wildlife park map gets a major upgrade this month. Rainforest Wild Adventure, Asia’s first adventure-based wildlife park at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, will soft open its second phase to the public from 20 May 2026, ahead of a grand opening celebration later in the month. With the new East zone joining the existing West zone, guests can now explore the full 20 hectares of naturalistic habitats inspired by the rainforests of Asia and Africa within a single visit.

Previously known as Rainforest Wild Asia and Africa, the renamed park now sits firmly in adventure territory — wildlife discovery and physical exploration go hand in hand, whether you are wheeling a stroller through forest treks or strapping into a harness for the high-element Black Adventure activities. Most visitors can pick from nine accessible Adventure+ activities, while thrill-seekers head deeper into the harnessed experiences.
Meet the okapi — a Southeast Asia first

Spanning seven hectares, Rainforest Wild Adventure East is inspired by Afro-tropical and Madagascan landscapes. Making its Southeast Asia debut is the okapi — an endangered species from the dense forests of the Congo in Central Africa, and the only one of its kind in any zoological park in Southeast Asia. With its deep brown coat and zebra-striped legs, it looks like a creature pulled straight out of folklore. It is, in fact, the giraffe’s closest living relative, and remained unknown to Western science until 1901.
Mandai’s four okapis arrived from European zoos in two pairs recommended for breeding under the EAZA Ex situ Programme (EEP). Guests may also encounter pygmy hippo, eastern bongo, red river hog and Nile lechwe, while a multi-species habitat brings together Madagascan wonders including lemurs, turacos, and ibises.
Nine Adventure+ activities — pick your level

The expansion brings the park’s total Adventure+ offerings to nine across both zones. In Rainforest Wild Adventure East, you can glide among the canopy on the Canopy Glider or soar eight metres up on the Ravine Swing. Those after a bigger rush can climb the 11-metre Split Rock Summit for sweeping views over Lemur Land, scale a strangler fig on Primate Climb, or tackle the Treetop Traverse — a 125-metre harnessed course where the park’s wildlife may pop into view at any turn.

Black Adventure activities at the West zone push things further with guided high-element experiences, including ascending a karst rock face and a simulated cave expedition. For families with young kids or wheelchair users, wide walkways and forest treks wind through the same habitats — no harness required.

National Geographic Pop-Ups debut at the retail shops
To mark the soft opening, Mandai Wildlife Group has teamed up with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia to launch National Geographic Pop-Ups in Singapore for the first time. The retail shops at East and West will feature National Geographic Apparel collections — outerwear, graphic tees and adventure-ready gear that draw on more than 135 years of National Geographic heritage. Expect interior design and displays inspired by National Geographic imagery throughout the pop-up window.

Soft opening details: dates, prices, shuttles

Rainforest Wild Adventure East soft-opens daily from 20 May 2026, 9am to 6pm (last admission at 5pm). A single park ticket includes entry to both zones, and visitors travel between them via free shuttle services. The M1 East-West shuttle connects the eastern and western clusters of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, while the M2 Khatib Shuttle Bus links to Khatib MRT every 15 to 20 minutes.
As part of the soft opening promotion, all ticket holders will enjoy access to nine Adventure+ activities on weekdays and up to five activities on weekends. Additional activities are available for separate purchase.
Local resident pricing is available for WildPass holders:
- Adults: S$50
- Children (aged 3 to 12) and local students (aged 25 and below): S$35
- Senior citizens: S$25
Sign up for free via the WildPass website and purchase tickets at the Rainforest Wild Adventure page. Non-residents pay a special soft opening rate of S$55 for adults and S$39 for children (aged 3 to 12).

Why this matters for Singapore families
For Singapore parents juggling weekend planning, Rainforest Wild Adventure shapes up as a strong all-day alternative to the more familiar Singapore Zoo and River Wonders neighbours next door. The east-west single-ticket model means you can pace your day around the kids, the weather, and the animals — and still tick off the okapi sighting that has, frankly, been a long time coming for Southeast Asia.
