vivo X300 Ultra Singapore Launch: ZEISS Master Lenses, 400mm Telephoto, $2,499 From 9 May

vivo has officially launched the X300 Ultra in Singapore, bringing the X Series’ most ambitious imaging flagship to local shelves from 9 May 2026. With pre-orders already running between 30 April and 8 May, the launch is timed neatly for Mother’s Day weekend — and vivo Singapore is leaning into the angle, pitching the device as a thoughtful gift for capturing family moments with camera-like quality.

The headline number for most buyers is the price: S$2,499 for the 16GB+1TB X300 Ultra, with the X300 Ultra Photographer Kit at S$3,299. That positions vivo’s flagship squarely in iPhone Pro Max and Galaxy S Ultra territory — and the brand is betting that its co-engineered ZEISS optics give it the differentiator.

The headline: ZEISS Master Lenses Collection

The X300 Ultra runs a ZEISS Triple Prime Lenses system at 85mm, 35mm and 14mm — pairing each focal length with an ultra-sensing sensor for what vivo positions as a complete, professional-grade imaging system. The 85mm Gimbal-Grade APO Telephoto camera packs a 200MP sensor with 60fps AF tracking and 3-degree gimbal-level OIS, aimed squarely at sports, wildlife and concert photographers. The 35mm Documentary Camera uses a Sony LYTIA 901 sensor with 1/1.12-inch sensor size, and the 14mm Ultra Wide-Angle Camera brings main-camera-grade quality to the wide end.

Two telephoto extenders push the system further: the 400mm-equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra (the world’s first 400mm extender of its kind) and the lighter 200mm-equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2, which has been slimmed from 210g to 153g. Both are co-engineered with ZEISS to APO imaging standards.

Cinematic video — Log on every camera

vivo’s video story is the most aggressive yet from a smartphone OEM. The X300 Ultra supports Multi-Focal 4K 120fps 10-bit Log Video and Multi-Focal 4K 120fps Dolby Vision Video across all rear cameras. Pro Video Mode adds custom 3D LUT preview while recording in Log, and vivo Log is now compatible with the ACES workflow — meaning Log footage can be colour-graded alongside cinema-camera assets in a unified colour space. There is also an upgraded Quad-Mic Audio Recording Master with six core scene presets to match the visual depth.

Colour Science, display and design

The all-new vivo Color Science sets up an end-to-end colour pipeline, anchored by a vivo Color-Sensing Camera with 5MP multispectral sensors across 12 colour channels. Custom presets let you replicate iconic camera looks, and the vivo Color Palette hands deep colour control for both photography and video. Outputs land on a 2K ZEISS Master Color Display with 4500-nits local peak brightness and Ultra XDR true 10-bit HDR.

Design-wise, the X300 Ultra leans hard into camera-inspired aesthetics: a Metal Biscuit-Style Camera Module, classic knurled texture, and engraved lettering on the camera-bump sidewall. The Volcano Black edition uses a unibody 3D glass fibre design at 232g, while Steppe Green goes for unprocessed-film hues in a slim 8.49mm classic split design.

Performance, battery and durability

Inside is a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 paired with the dedicated Pro Imaging Chip VS1+, with a Liquid Cooling Vapor Chamber to keep things steady during long 4K 120fps sessions. The 6,600mAh BlueVolt battery supports 100W FlashCharge and 40W Wireless FlashCharge, with bypass charging to keep temperatures down when you use the phone while plugged in.

Other niceties: IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, Armor Glass exterior, 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanning 2.0, and a 5-Year OS Upgrade and 7-Year Security Maintenance commitment under OriginOS 6.

Should you buy it?

The X300 Ultra is unapologetically pitched at creators — and at this price tier, you are paying for the optical engineering rather than just the spec sheet. For Singapore parents eyeing a Mother’s Day gift, the angle vivo is pushing is the simpler one: 200MP detail, gimbal stabilisation and ZEISS colour mean candid family portraits, milestone shots and group photos that look noticeably more “cameralike” than the average flagship — without the learning curve of a mirrorless body.
