What does “home” actually mean? This September, 450 artists across Singapore, from young children to seasoned adults, offer their answers at HOME: 家, a three-day community art exhibition at Dempsey Hill from 4 to 6 September 2026. Admission is free, and it is open to all.
Presented by Singapore arts education studio Artgrain in partnership with Dempsey Hill, the show gathers around 450 original artworks exploring memory, family, identity and the small everyday moments that quietly hold a life together. About a third of the artists are children and youth.
Art with a cause
Roughly half of the works will be available for purchase, with proceeds going to the Children’s Cancer Foundation and the Singapore Cancer Society. It is a fitting note for an exhibition built around community and giving back.
Voices across generations
Among the highlights is Lee Ker Peng’s oil painting Ice Cream, which traces a candid moment from a family trip to Hokkaido, a personal piece anchored in memory and grief. Also exhibiting is 16-year-old Myra Wee Hsin Shuen, recipient of the Business Times Budding Artist Award 2024, whose Our Walk Home took Gold at the 13–19 Art Prize 2024.
They are two voices among a wider community of children, youths and adults, each bringing their own story and creative journey to the walls, from 11-year-old Zaina Taleb to artists picking up a brush later in life.
