The 2026 Garmin Run Marathon Series Singapore will decide at 11pm on Saturday (24 October) whether Sunday’s race at Marina Barrage goes ahead, is shortened or is cancelled, based on the one-hour PM2.5 reading at that time under the organiser’s haze contingency plan. The race has 21km and 10km categories.

The timeline
- Saturday 24 October, 5am: organisers began monitoring the 24-hour PSI
- Saturday 24 October, 11pm: decision to proceed, shorten or cancel, based on the one-hour PM2.5
- Sunday 25 October, 4am: monitoring continues, with hourly updates on Garmin’s social media channels
Runners can also join a WhatsApp haze community for updates.

What each band means
The plan follows guidelines from the National Environment Agency and Sport Singapore.
- Band 1: both races go ahead as planned
- Band 2: the 21km is shortened to the 10km route. Runners who choose not to start can collect their race entitlements at the Race Village.
- Band 3 or 4: both races are cancelled. Entitlements can be collected at Marina Barrage until 12pm on 25 October.

Where the readings stand
At 6am on Saturday, NEA’s one-hour PM2.5 readings were 72 to 115 across Singapore, all in Band 2, and the 24-hour PSI was 112 to 139, NEA data on data.gov.sg showed at 6.15am.
Race pack collection
Race packs can be collected at GENEO, 1 Science Park Drive, on Saturday from 2pm to 5pm, or on race morning from 3am to 6am. Bring your confirmation slip. The nearest MRT is Kent Ridge, Exit B.
Garmin charges runners living in Singapore a late collection fee of S$20, paid by QR code. International participants are not charged. A friend can collect on your behalf with your confirmation slip and a completed authorisation form, up to two packs per person.
Race morning schedule
Garmin’s race guide sets the 21km flag-off for 5am at Marina Barrage, with a four-hour cut-off at 9.25am. The 10km starts at 6am and closes at 8.50am. The Race Village and gear bag deposit open at 3am, and runner shuttle buses pick up from points across Singapore from 3am for the 21km and 4.30am for the 10km.
Under Band 2, 21km runners would move to the 10km route and its 6am start.
Garmin will post the decision on its social media channels and the WhatsApp haze community at 11pm on Saturday.
