SwimTogether Singapore comes to Sengkang pool on 10 October, free for all abilities

Sport Singapore and the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) bring SwimTogether Singapore, the free inclusive swim that pairs persons with disabilities with the wider community, to Sengkang Swimming Complex this Saturday, 10 October 2026, from 9am to 1pm.

Entry is free. Walk-ins are welcome. Families can register through SDSC ahead of the day.

Laps in both pools, side by side

The idea is simple. Swimmers with disabilities and able-bodied swimmers are encouraged to pair up and clock laps together, side by side, in dedicated lanes across both the training pool and the competition pool.

SwimTogether started last year. This year’s edition puts more weight on that pairing, so swimmers support one another and make new friends through the session.

Sengkang ActiveSG Swimming Complex is at 57 Anchorvale Road. The session runs for four hours, so swimmers can come in for a few laps or stay longer.

Who can swim

The event is open to swimmers of all abilities aged five and above. Participants under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, coach, teacher or caregiver.

A season-long laps count

There is a competitive edge for those who want one. Individuals and teams can chase the Most Laps Swum title, and laps completed across all three SwimTogether days are added together.

There are six categories:

  • Individual
  • Individual (persons with intellectual disability, autism or sensory disabilities)
  • Individual (persons with physical disabilities)
  • Individual (seniors aged 60 and above)
  • Team (at least four swimmers)
  • Team, mixed abilities (at least four swimmers, including at least one person with a disability)

Each category winner takes home a trophy and a S$100 NTUC voucher.

A busy month for para sport

Saturday’s swim lands a week before Singapore’s para athletes head into competition overseas. The 5th Asian Para Games run in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from 18 to 24 October 2026, and the Singapore National Paralympic Council is rallying support for Team Singapore ahead of the Games.

The remaining dates

The series opened at Delta Swimming Complex on 12 September. After Sengkang this weekend, the final session is at Jurong West Swimming Complex on Saturday, 14 November, again from 9am to 1pm.

That makes Saturday’s swim the middle round of the laps count. Swimmers and teams then have one more pool day, at Jurong West, to add to their totals.
