Singapore Airlines Starlink Wi-Fi: What High-Speed Inflight Internet Changes

Singapore Airlines is moving to Starlink high-speed inflight Wi-Fi from the first quarter of 2027, a travel-tech change that matters most to passengers who work, message family or need reliable browsing on long flights.

The rollout is planned for SIA’s Airbus A350-900 long-haul, A350-900 ultra-long-range and A380 aircraft. Inflight Wi-Fi has often been judged by whether it exists at all. The next question is whether it is fast and stable enough to be useful without planning your whole flight around dead zones and slow loading.

Why Starlink Matters In The Cabin

Satellite-based connectivity can make the aircraft feel less cut off, especially on long-haul routes where passengers want to continue work, sync travel plans or stay reachable after boarding.

SIA says Starlink’s Aero Terminal can support up to 1Gbps per antenna, and that the service is intended to support activities such as video streaming, social sharing, gaming and large-file transfers. For business travellers, the value is being able to respond and send documents without waiting until landing.

What To Check Before You Fly

Rollouts take time, so passengers should not assume every aircraft has the same service from day one. Check your aircraft type, route and Wi-Fi notes in the booking flow or manage-booking page before relying on it for work.

SIA says Suites, First Class, Business Class, PPS Club members, and KrisFlyer members travelling in Premium Economy or Economy will continue to enjoy unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi on Starlink-enabled aircraft. Premium Economy and Economy passengers need their KrisFlyer details in the booking or at check-in.
