Strangely Familiar At SIFA 2026: T.H.E Dance Company’s Digital-Body Work

Strangely Familiar by T.H.E Dance Company runs from 22 to 24 May at Victoria Theatre as part of SIFA 2026. Directed and choreographed by Kuik Swee Boon, the 70-minute non-verbal work places five dance artists in an encounter with a shifting digital presence.

The official synopsis frames the work around the body, instinct, invention and how people learn to coexist with what they create.

Why It Stands Out

T.H.E Dance Company’s HollowBody methodology is already concerned with listening, adaptation and the body as a living site. Here, that language meets a virtual force, making the piece timely for audiences thinking about AI, digital companions and human attention.

It should work for viewers who like contemporary dance with a strong concept, rather than a literal story that explains every movement.

Tickets And Timing

Tickets are listed from S$32.30 before booking fees, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. The ticketing page says there is no admission for infant in arms or persons below six.
