The Ministry of Education’s School Placement Exercise for Returning Singaporeans to Junior College or Millennia Institute (SPERS-JC/MI) is still open for applications through 4.30pm on Friday, 16 October 2026.
The centralised placement test sits on Friday, 6 November 2026, in a single day. Families apply online, then pay via the Principals Academy instructions in the follow-up email (credit card, cheque or PayNow).
Eligible applicants are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents returning from living and studying overseas, who have completed the equivalent of Secondary 4 abroad, do not already hold a local JC or MI place, are generally 16 to 20-plus as of 1 January of the admission year, and have not sat SPERS-JC/MI before. Children with a Leave of Absence place reserved should contact that school instead of entering SPERS.
Fees
For Singapore Citizens the test fee is waived, with a S$12 administrative fee still due. For Permanent Residents the test fee is S$160. Fees are non-refundable and every application is subject to approval.
