Samsung Newsroom Singapore said on 16 September 2026 that the official One UI 9 rollout starts in September with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, then continues to more eligible Galaxy phones and tablets in phases.
One UI 9 already landed on Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8. The S26 series is the next slab-flagship wave.
My FanCam keeps one person in frame
My FanCam tracks a selected person in a recorded video and keeps them centred as the scene moves. Samsung frames it for kids’ performances, dance floors and sport clips that need a social-ready cut without a full edit pass.
A Samsung Account is required. The feature may not run if there is no clear subject, and Samsung says accuracy is not guaranteed.
Now Brief cards you can edit
Generative and Editable Cards on Now Brief let users shape daily summaries across health, weather and video. The brief only uses personal information the user has consented to share.
Warranty and Care sits in Settings, so warranty checks, self-diagnostics, repair estimates and Samsung Care+ booking live in one menu on linked devices. Available tools still differ by country.
Smaller workflow upgrades
Now Nudge can pull reservation details or a shared location while you are already in a chat. Interpreter adds a Thread View so earlier translated lines stay easy to scan. Document Scan handles curved book pages and folded corners with less manual fix-up, and Voice Recorder summaries use clearer headings and tables.
Security and scam tools
Security Brief folds malware, unknown-source apps and excess-permission alerts into Now Brief. Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to flag background permission grabs on a published list of recent Galaxy phones and tablets.
Scam Detection expands to more countries and languages; Samsung’s footnotes name Japan, Canada and India among the new markets. Local availability still depends on device and One UI version once the S26 package arrives.
Samsung says official One UI 9 will keep rolling out to other eligible Galaxy devices in phases after the S26 series.
