New Balance Lets You Trial Running Shoes on a Real Run at Suntec City

A running shoe can feel perfect in the shop and quite different once you are actually pounding the pavement. New Balance is trying to close that gap with a complimentary shoe trial programme at its Suntec City store, letting runners take a pair out for a proper test before committing.

Try before you buy

Participants get fitted in-store, then choose from a line-up spanning the everyday Ellipse, FuelCell Rebel and 1080 to the newer SuperComp Rebel and SuperComp Elite. From there, it is out the door for a self-guided 60-minute run around Suntec City and Marina Bay, a far more telling test than a few steps on carpet.

How it works

The programme is open to runners of all levels and offers a more meaningful way to see how a shoe fits, feels and performs. Sessions run Monday to Thursday and can be booked up to 14 days in advance, subject to availability. Trial shoe models depend on stock and size, and recommendations may vary based on your running experience and goals.
