MOM’s new Issue Work Permit function on myMOM Portal changes the process for employers and employment agencies from 4 May 2026.
The key practical change is that users no longer need to upload a hard-copy medical examination report or chest X-ray when issuing a Work Permit after the new flow is rolled out.
What Changes For Employers
The older process required employers to collect the completed hard-copy medical report, update address and mobile details on OFWAS, wait, then issue the permit through WP Online.
The myMOM Portal flow is meant to reduce duplicate steps and make the issuance process less paper-heavy.
What To Prepare
Employers should still make sure worker contact and address details are correct, and that the medical examination process has been completed through the relevant provider flow before trying to issue the permit.
MOM explains the new flow on its myMOM Portal Work Permit page.
