iCAUR, the newest new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under China’s Chery Group, has officially arrived in Singapore with the launch of its debut model, the V23, an all-electric boxy SUV distributed here by Vertex Automobile.
Demand has reportedly outpaced supply ahead of the official launch, with Vertex Automobile saying over 100 units have already been sold and its first two shipments almost fully sold out.
Two decades of Chery ties behind a new name
Vertex Automobile is the sole authorised distributor of Omoda Jaecoo and iCAUR in Singapore, a relationship with Chery Group spanning over twenty years. Chery has been the largest vehicle exporter in China for 23 consecutive years, with a portfolio that now includes Chery, Omoda Jaecoo and iCAUR.
“Our relationship with Chery isn’t one we manage from a distance,” said Ms Sng Khai Hing, Executive Director of Vertex Automobile. “New energy vehicles have always been a genuinely good fit for Singapore, and iCAUR is the newest name we’re bringing into that space.”
Guided by the ethos “Classic Never Fades”, iCAUR pairs boxy, heritage-inspired silhouettes with new NEV systems underneath – familiar on the outside, completely new underneath.
Putting range to the test on Singapore roads
Boxy SUVs are typically less aerodynamically efficient than sleeker EV shapes, which shows up in official rated range figures. Rather than rely on lab numbers alone, Vertex Automobile ran the V23 through its “Beyond Limits One Charge Challenge”, sending journalists and content creators out on real Singapore roads to see how far the car could travel on a single charge.
The top three results were Goh Zhi Xuan of SgCarMart with 516.4km, Colin of Learns Marketing with 463km, and Leow Ju Len of MrChia.sg with 447.8km – all comfortably ahead of the V23’s WLTP Combined rating of 312km.
Red Dot design award and safety features
The V23 won the Red Dot Design Concept Award 2026, recognised for its nearly 1:1 width-to-height ratio, boxy silhouette and details such as round LED headlights and exposed wipers. On the safety side, the car comes with driver-assist features including Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Built to be co-created
Central to iCAUR’s brand philosophy is co-creation: the V23 is designed with 24 interchangeable exterior panels, letting owners reshape the car’s look to suit their own style. Vertex Automobile’s existing partnership with Charge+, in place since early 2026, now extends to V23 owners, offering up to 40 per cent off charging at Charge+ chargers islandwide.
Price and where to view it
The iCAUR V23 is priced from S$184,999, with early bird specials valid from 24 September to 4 October 2026 and further launch promotions including a S$20,000 COE Booster and up to S$16,000 launch discount on the guaranteed COE package. Walk-in viewing hours are 10am to 6pm on weekdays and 10am to 7pm on weekends, with appointment slots available outside those hours. iCAUR is a premium NEV brand under Chery Group established in April 2023, now sold in more than 20 countries and regions.
