HONOR launched the X9e Pro in Singapore on Friday (25 September), a mid-range phone from S$529 built around an 11,000mAh battery that the company calls the industry’s largest.
Pre-orders run from 25 September to 1 October. There are three memory and storage versions and four colours: Royal Purple, Reddish Brown, Dawn Gold and Midnight Black.
Little Big Red Dot attended the media launch at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering. HONOR’s presentation centred on the battery, drop resistance and water resistance, and the demo stations in the foyer followed the same line: a handset sitting in a tank of running water, a poster of the phone powering a lamp by cable, and a concrete mixer drum with an invitation to drop the phone in.
An 11,000mAh battery with 80W charging
The battery is 11,000mAh typical, or 10,510mAh rated. The HONOR X9d has 8,300mAh. On stage, HONOR set the new phone against two 10,000mAh models from rival brands it did not name.
Wired charging is 80W with HONOR SuperCharge, and the phone can charge other devices over a cable at up to 27W. HONOR’s lab figures are 66.8 hours of video playback, 35.6 hours of short video and 164.5 hours of music.
What HONOR says it can survive
HONOR rates the X9e Pro at IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K, and says it survived submersion to 10m in its own lab. The X9d is rated to 1.5m. The company also claims drops of up to 3m onto granite, and the phone holds an SGS five-star rating for drop resistance in harsh conditions, covering low-angle drops and complex terrain.
HONOR also says the phone is not professionally water resistant, and that water and dust protection can weaken with daily wear.
Display, chip and cameras
The screen is a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel at 2,788 x 1,280 pixels with a 120Hz refresh rate. HONOR quotes 800 nits typical and 10,000 nits at peak. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 running MagicOS 10 on Android 16. The X9d uses a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.
The main camera is 108MP with optical image stabilisation, alongside a 5MP wide camera and a 16MP front camera. The body is 8.08mm thick, and the phone has Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC.
Memory is the catch. The 128GB model has 6GB of RAM and the other two have 8GB, where the X9d in Singapore has 12GB. HONOR’s RAM Expansion can stretch the 8GB models to 24GB of running memory, but it does that by borrowing storage.
