Circle Line 6 public preview is the first chance to ride the missing link that finally makes the Circle Line a real loop. On 4 July 2026, commuters can travel free between Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Road from 9.30am to 9pm. Passenger service starts on 12 July.
The change is bigger than three new stations. CCL6 connects HarbourFront to Marina Bay, closing the gap that has kept the Circle Line as a horseshoe-shaped route for years. Once the link opens, riders travelling between the south-western stretch and the CBD will have more direct routes instead of funnelling through busy interchanges such as City Hall and Raffles Place.
The Three New Stations

- Keppel sits between HarbourFront and Cantonment, serving the Keppel Road and future Greater Southern Waterfront area.
- Cantonment is integrated around the old Tanjong Pagar Railway Station area, with heritage-sensitive works around the national monument.
- Prince Edward Road connects the new stretch into the Marina Bay side of the Circle Line.
- The CCL6 extension is 4km long.
- The completed Circle Line will have 33 stations, including 12 interchange stations.
How Much Time It Can Save
The most useful example is Telok Blangah to Marina Bay. Today, that trip often means travelling the long way round the existing Circle Line or changing lines through HarbourFront, Outram Park or other CBD interchanges. With the loop closed, that journey becomes a direct Circle Line trip towards Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Road, with public summaries of the project pointing to around 10 minutes of time savings for trips such as Telok Blangah to Marina Bay.
The same logic helps HarbourFront, Labrador Park, Telok Blangah and Pasir Panjang riders heading to Marina Bay, Bayfront or the eastern side of the Circle Line. It also helps CBD workers around Cantonment, Shenton Way and Prince Edward Road because the new stations add rail access without forcing every journey through the North-South or East-West Line core.
What Happens On Preview Day
The 4 July preview is for the three new stations only, with free travel between Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Road from 9.30am to 9pm. Treat it as a familiarisation day rather than normal commuting: expect families, train fans and residents checking entrances, links and station layouts.
What Changes From 12 July
From 12 July, CCL6 starts passenger service and the Circle Line becomes a 33-station loop linking every existing MRT line. LTA has also bought 23 new CCL trains for the expected increase in passenger volume, raising the fleet from 64 to 87 trains. If you live or work along the south-west stretch, the practical move is to test your usual trip again after opening; the fastest route to Marina Bay, Bayfront, Promenade or Paya Lebar may no longer be the one you use today.
