Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Heritage Festival runs 5 to 13 September

NParks will run the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park Heritage Festival from 5 to 13 September 2026, a nine-day public programme of music, art, guided experiences, tours, exhibitions, talks and cultural performances at both sites.

The festival sits inside a longer commemoration of the Gardens’ UNESCO World Heritage listing, which took effect on 4 July 2015. The Botanic Gardens is at 1 Cluny Road. The grounds are open from 5am to midnight daily, and general admission is free. The National Orchid Garden is ticketed and opens 8.30am to 7pm, with last ticket sales and entry at 6pm.

Where to enter

Tanglin Gate is the Napier Road side, nearest Napier MRT. The Bukit Timah entrance sits by Botanic Gardens MRT on the Circle and Downtown lines. Other gates include Nassim (Evans Road and Cluny Road), Tyersall and Gallop, both off Tyersall Avenue. Visitor services desks operate 8am to 5.30pm.

Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden opens 8am to 7pm, last entry 6.30pm, and is closed on Mondays unless that Monday is a public holiday. Indoor rooms such as the Heritage Museum and Botanical Art Gallery are listed 9am to 6pm, with staggered monthly maintenance closures.

Fort Canning

Fort Canning Park is the festival’s second venue. The 22-hectare hill is bounded by Hill Street, Canning Rise, Clemenceau Avenue and River Valley Road, and is open 24 hours. Wheelchair access is from the drop-off at Cox Terrace roundabout.

NParks lists a Heritage on the Hill guided tour at Fort Canning on Saturday (Sep 5) from 10am to 12pm, the festival’s opening day. Roots and Reflection, a forest bathing and trees session, is on Wednesday (Sep 9) from 8.30am to 11.30am. The Heir, an interactive projection and audio quest at the Spice Garden, runs 7.30pm to 10pm from Friday (Sep 4) to Sunday (Sep 6).

The two parks are a few kilometres apart, so a single afternoon does not cover both plus a timed session. Individual listings can require registration and can change for wet weather.
