Aku Bersaksi At Arts x Tech Lab: Free Aliwal Exhibition From 21 May

Aku Bersaksi… (I Bear Witness…) by Syafiq Halid runs at Arts x Tech Lab at Aliwal Arts Centre from 21 to 29 May 2026, with free admission from 12pm to 8pm daily. The work reimagines Aliwal as a living witness to artists, audiences and the histories that have passed through the building.

This is a compact arts pick for readers who want something quieter than a large museum show. It also suits anyone interested in sound, text, archival traces and how places hold memory.

What To Know

The exhibition is part of NAC’s Arts x Tech Lab programming, which gives artists a space to work with technology, performance and experimentation. Closing performances take place on 30 May at 5pm and 8pm, with registration required.

Because the exhibition is free, the main planning issue is timing. Visit during the 12pm to 8pm window if you want a straightforward walk-through; register separately if you want the closing performance.

Planning Notes

Aliwal Arts Centre is near Kampong Glam, so it works well as part of a short evening arts route with dinner nearby. Give yourself enough time to sit with the work rather than treating it as a quick photo stop.
