This bibimbap outlet is not new. In fact, this is not the first time I am having a meal here. I previously dined here a few months ago when I met my friends for lunch. The reason for dining here then was due to the availability of seats during lunch hour, the swiftness in getting our food served and the affordability.
This was my second time dining here. This time, the reason was slightly different. My family and I had cycled here from East Coast Park via the park connectors and we had parked our bicycles at the bicycle parking slots at Funan. Mincheng Bibimbap is located right next to the bicycle parking slots.
Oh yes, if you do not already know, Funan is cyclist friendly. You can ride your bicycle through Funan. There is a cycling track on the first level. There are also shower facilities. They are located next to Mincheng Bibimbap as well.
For starters, it was already relatively late. Almost 9pm and hence there was little to no crowd.
This is how the outlet looks like.
Oh yes, you get free flow rice, kimchi and soup. Self service at this corner.
The prices are relatively affordable. I mean I think I have had meals at some food courts in the central business district for more than this. And I am talking about patronising from economic rice food stalls…
Can I just say that the hot plate egg with tofu is really good? If you are there you have to order this.
The table is not large enough for all the food we ordered.
This was the Cheese Bibimbap. Yes the cheese on the menu is melted but this is not. Rest assured, the hot stone is hot enough. It melted the moment everything was mixed.
This was the Beef Bibimbap.
Here is what the actual Cheese Corn looked like.
This was the best of all. To me at least. The rest had the other dishes as their favourites.
I liked the Naengmyeon Cold Noodle a lot.
I am vegetarian so just removing the ham was simple enough. And this was really good.
Why am I highly recommending this place? My family was with me and there is seldom where everyone will have common consensus as to where to eat. This was one of the rare times when everyone commented that they do not mind coming back to Mincheng Bibimbap the next time we are at Funan or in the area.
Oh and it would most likely be on our bicycles.
Yours sincerely,
Daryl
