National Gallery’s Trick-or-Treat Family Fun runs this weekend until 1 November

National Gallery Singapore’s Trick-or-Treat Family Fun returns for a second year, with sessions this weekend on Saturday (24 October) and Sunday (25 October) and the last run on 1 November. Children aged three to 12 make their own trick-or-treat bucket and then follow a clue trail through the gallery collecting treats.

What families do

Each 90-minute session starts with a craft. Children make a paper mâché trick-or-treat bucket with ArtBeatz, then use it on a clue trail through the DBS Singapore Gallery, picking up treats along the way.

The bucket is a paper mâché base that children decorate with colour and texture before the hunt. The clues lead to selected artworks in the gallery and to stories from Singapore’s past, so the trail doubles as a first look at the National Collection.

The whole programme runs indoors at the Gallery, which matters on a hazy weekend when outdoor plans are harder to keep.

Before you go

The UOB Southeast Asia Gallery is closed and reopens in late 2027, though works from the National Collection remain on show across the building. The current exhibition Passion is Volcanic: Desire in Southeast Asian Art is rated R18, so it is not part of a family visit.
