South Korea’s Silica Gel return to Esplanade Annexe Studio on Monday 19 October 2026 at 8pm for a Mosaic Music Series night billed as Silica Gel ASIA TOUR <Syn.THE.Size: Ballad of You>. That date, time and room are on Esplanade’s event page, checked 29 August 2026.
Esplanade frames the booking as a full-fledged Singapore date after the band’s Baybeats 2025 set, and nearly a year after an October 2025 Esplanade show. The same page ties the tour title to the band’s third full-length album, Ballad of You, listed as released in August 2026. That is the presenter’s claim, dated to this check.
How the band got here
Esplanade’s artist note places Silica Gel as a four-piece formed in 2013: Kim Hanjoo, Kim Chunchu, Kim Geonjay and Choi Woonghee. The listing says the name came from the silica gel packet in a gum container, and quotes the band’s own line about “team-play rather than teamwork” as their approach to making music.
The public CV on that page runs through a self-titled debut album in 2016 and three Korean Music Awards rookie prizes the same year, then a military-service hiatus. The return singles named there are Desert Eagle (2021) and No Pain (2022). For 2023, Esplanade lists Tik Tak Tok, a third straight Best Modern Rock Song win at the Korean Music Awards, and Musician of the Year.
That is a lineage built from awards and release dates on a presenter page, not a review of how those songs land live. If you already know the band from Baybeats or the 2025 Esplanade date, the October 2026 night is the first Singapore stop tied on the listing to Ballad of You.
What Esplanade says the night is
The published synopsis opens with “There’s no pain, just joy when Silica Gel’s around,” then describes a blend of psychedelia, art-rock, indie pop and experimental textures. Language is listed as Korean. Running time is 1 hour 30 minutes with no intermission. Advisory: standing room only. Admission age is 6 and above.
So the room is the Annexe Studio, not Esplanade Theatre. A different September file on the same campus is Godot Theatre Company’s ART, a seated Mandarin three-hander with a Cat 1 to Cat 6 ladder. This Silica Gel date is a standing indie-rock bill with one published Standard price.

Go if you want a Korean-language standing night, you can stay on your feet for 90 minutes with no interval, and the Mosaic date is the point rather than a free outdoor festival set. Skip it if you need a seat, if admission age 6 made you picture a family musical, or if you wanted surtitles (none are listed).
