National Stadium Unveils Permanent Stadium-Wide Sound System

Singapore’s National Stadium has turned up the volume. The venue at The Kallang has installed a permanent, stadium-wide sound system, an upgrade that promoters and touring acts have long asked for, and one that should make every seat sound better at the next big concert. The new National Stadium sound system, built around d&b audiotechnik technology, was announced this week as part of The Kallang Group’s drive to keep Singapore at the front of the live-events race.

A permanent, stadium-wide upgrade

Until now, major concerts at the National Stadium leaned heavily on temporary audio rigs trucked in for each show, adding cost, complexity and a fair bit of variability. The new integrated system changes that. It is purpose-built for the stadium’s distinctive dome and is engineered to deliver clear vocals, balanced sound and strong low-end performance across every seating tier, with reduced echo and less sound spilling out of the bowl.

What it means for fans and promoters

For fans, that means a more consistent experience whether you are trackside or up in the highest tiers. For promoters, it is a rider-friendly, turnkey solution that meets the expectations of international touring productions while cutting the logistical friction traditionally associated with staging a mega-show in Singapore.

“As competition in the region becomes more competitive, we must continuously innovate to keep Singapore at the forefront of the global experience economy,” said Yazed Osman, Group Head, Events & Placemaking and Place Management at The Kallang Group. “With this audio system upgrade at the National Stadium, we help reduce the logistical friction for international promoters, while elevating the acoustic experience for fans.”

Built for flexible staging

The system is also built to support multiple stadium and stage configurations, giving creative and production teams the flexibility to design shows around the space rather than the equipment. That matters for a venue that switches between football, national events and stadium-scale concerts.

Why it matters for Singapore

Singapore has spent the past few years positioning itself as the region’s live-events capital, and sound quality is a big part of what keeps the world’s biggest acts coming back. A permanent house system removes one more hurdle for promoters weighing up where to route a tour.
