After dark this fortnight, Armenian Street becomes a portal to somewhere stranger. elsewhere at Armenian Street is the Peranakan Museum’s contribution to Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2026, and it runs from 21 August to 5 September, turning the street and the museum into a world spun from Southeast Asian folklore, Peranakan stories and pure imagination.
Expect a mix of free and ticketed experiences, from immersive art installations and live performances to workshops, markets and community-led programmes. Here are the highlights worth planning your evening around.
The Great Mythical Stampede
The headline installation, created by CHUNKIE, imagines the mythical creatures in the Peranakan Museum’s collection breaking free from the objects they inhabit. Winged horses soar from carved wood, lion-dogs leap from porcelain and phoenixes burst from embroidered silk, as Armenian Street becomes a doorway to “elsewhere”.

The Other Night: a marketplace of myth and mischief
Presented by Wormhole and friends, The Other Night is a marketplace of myth, magic and mischief across four evenings. Wander past fortune tellers, makers and wandering storytellers, and browse a curious selection of wares from independent local vendors.

The Somewhere Else Stage
Armenian Street turns into a crossroads of music, dance and theatre, with four nights of performances spanning Dikir Barat, live improvisation, dream-pop, Arabic music, Chinese opera, noise rock, bellydance and puppetry. The line-up features local and regional acts including Kelana Purba, Shye, The Samrah Club, Tok Tok Chiang, Krunkle, NADA and Yogyakarta-based Papermoon Puppet Theatre.

Step into the Wayang with Gunong Sayang
For something rooted firmly in local heritage, follow performers from the Gunong Sayang Association through the museum’s galleries in an immersive Wayang Peranakan experience, where song, dance and theatre bring the collection’s stories to life.
