Woodlands Library hosts a free parent-child music workshop on Saturday 17 October 2026, and the National Library Board has also locked Early READ Fiesta dates across four libraries from November 2026 into March 2027. Folk Songs with a Twist, run with PCF, is built for parents with children aged 2 to 6.
Both are first-party NLB programmes. The Saturday workshop is the near-term booking; the Fiesta is the longer family calendar.
Folk Songs with a Twist, 17 October
The session runs from 11am to 12pm at Woodlands Library’s Programme Zone on Level 1. Families sing, move and play while working through working memory, inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility, drawing on NLB’s SparkleWAY Music approach. It is in English and needs no musical background.
Parents or caregivers must stay with their children. Attendance is taken on the NLB Mobile app, so add the child’s profile before you arrive. The listing opens the door to walk-ins on a first-come basis, with seats released if registered guests are late; arrive 10 minutes early. Woodlands MRT is the nearest station.
Registration runs through PCF’s platform at go.gov.sg/nlbpcfparentseminars, open since 3 October, and walk-ins are admitted while seats last. Scan the QR code at the venue on entry to log attendance. The workshop is listed for toddlers aged 1 to 3 and preschoolers aged 4 to 6 with their parents, and NLB may photograph or film the session.
Early READ Fiesta 2026/2027
