vOilah! French Film Festival returns for its 42nd edition from 12 to 29 November 2026, with 34 films, free screenings and family-friendly showings beyond the cinemas. Organised by the Embassy of France in Singapore and co-presented with Alliance Française de Singapour, Shaw Organisation and Filmhouse, it is open to film lovers and families alike.

What is on
The line-up spans festival favourites, timeless classics and an expanded animation showcase, from historical epics and thrilling dramas to comedies and coming-of-age stories. The headline titles are De Gaulle I: Tilting Iron and De Gaulle II: The Sovereign Age, a two-part epic about Charles de Gaulle during World War II. De Gaulle I, directed by Antonin Baudry, is the festival’s opening film.

Shaw Theatres and Alliance Française de Singapour will also screen box-office hits, including new adaptations of The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables, Julien Chheng’s animated fantasy Muyi And The Handsome General, and Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Violette.

At Filmhouse, audiences can explore more of Jeunet’s imaginative universe through works from his career, alongside a tribute to Marjane Satrapi that includes Persepolis.
Beyond the cinemas
The festival also heads into the heartlands, libraries and community spaces through a growing network of partners. These locations will show family-friendly films for audiences of all ages.
