Singaporeans aged 25 and above who take selected SkillsFuture artificial intelligence courses will get six months of free premium AI tool access from the second half of 2026. The commitment was set out in Budget 2026 and expanded when Manpower Minister Tan See Leng spoke at the Ministry of Manpower Committee of Supply debate on 3 March 2026.
What MOM has said
Eligible course participants receive a premium subscription for six months so they can practise what the class teaches. MOM says the tool is paired to the registered SkillsFuture AI course, and the offer is open regardless of skill level. Qualifying courses and the exact tools have not been published yet. Discussions cited in Parliament cover providers such as Google, Manus, Microsoft and OpenAI.
How SkillsFuture is preparing the path
SkillsFuture Singapore’s Budget page also lists a self-diagnostic AI readiness tool on the MySkillsFuture portal by the second quarter of 2026, with course recommendations after the check. The same quarter is meant to bring a revamped MySkillsFuture site with clearer AI learning pathways and an AI-powered chatbot for course guidance. SSG has said demand for AI-related skills more than doubled between 2022 and 2025.
MySkillsFuture already lists generative AI courses that teach tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Copilot, but those catalogue pages are not the subscription eligibility list.
