The city’s biggest after-dark celebration is back. Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2026 returns for its 17th edition from 21 August to 5 September 2026, turning the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct into a mythical district where, as this year’s theme promises, legends unfold. Expect facade projections, larger-than-life performances and installations spread across the museums, lanes and lawns of the neighbourhood.

Themed Myths and Legends, SNF 2026 leans into the storytelling traditions of Singapore and the wider region, inviting visitors to rediscover old tales in new light. The festival threads folklore through its artworks and performances, so a stroll through Bras Basah.Bugis doubles as a walk through the stories that shaped the region.
What to look out for
A few highlights are already worth pencilling in. Tales of Earth and Sea is a striking facade projection at the National Museum of Singapore by Indonesian collective The Fox, The Folks. The inaugural MALAM Projection Mapping Competition puts Southeast Asian artists, students and collectives on the big canvas. And for opening weekend, Dutch group Close-Act Theatre brings Birdmen, their fantastical, pterodactyl-like stilt creatures, to Singapore for their Southeast Asian debut.
Fans of a good scare can also head to Horror Nights @ Oldham Theatre, a film-led strand within the festival, while light-based installations dot the precinct for those who prefer a gentler wander. It is the kind of line-up that rewards both the planner and the free-and-easy explorer.
Plan your night
The festival is centred on the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, an easy walk from Bras Basah, Bencoolen and City Hall MRT stations. Evenings draw the biggest crowds, especially over the opening weekend, so comfortable shoes, a water bottle and a portable fan will serve you well.
