Singapore Aero Engine Services (SAESL), the SIA Engineering and Rolls-Royce joint venture, will offer 30 Institute of Technical Education work-study diploma places from 2027. SAESL signed four memorandums of understanding on 23 September at MRO Asia-Pacific 2026.
The ITE places sit inside partnerships with ITE, Republic Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and A*STAR’s Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre. Together, the education ties are expected to support up to 200 trainee technicians a year.
What the ITE pathway covers
ITE chief executive Peter Lam said the 30 Work-Study Diploma placements in 2027 mark the start of a longer partnership that will also include scholarships, staff attachments and curriculum work over time. Students work as employees while studying toward the diploma.
Why SAESL is hiring
The pipeline supports SAESL’s plan to hire more than 1,000 technicians over five years and a S$242 million expansion that aims to lift maintenance, repair and overhaul capacity by 40 per cent by 2029, including a new Loyang facility due in 2027. The company is also retraining its existing workforce as shop-floor work becomes more digital.
