Restaurant Zén Reopens 25 August: What Changed and What Dinner Costs

Restaurant Zén, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant on Bukit Pasoh Road, reopens on 25 August after closing on 2 June for a renewal, with lunch priced at S$450++ per guest and a fixed dinner menu at S$620++.

When does Restaurant Zén reopen?

Tuesday, 25 August 2026, after just under three months closed from 2 June. The restaurant’s own site describes the period as a “renewal” rather than a full renovation, without stating the scope of construction work involved.

How much does dinner cost now?

Dinner is a fixed menu at S$620++ per guest, with a beverage pairing available separately. Lunch is S$450++ per guest, with supplementary courses on offer. Both figures come from the restaurant’s own site as published ahead of the reopening; whether either price changed during the closure is not stated, so we cannot say if this is a rise on the pre-renewal figure.

What changed in the renewal?

Zén’s own description is that it “will return in a more contemporary and intimate form, where architecture, hospitality, and storytelling come together in a renewed expression,” while keeping the three-storey Bukit Pasoh shophouse it has occupied since opening. That is the restaurant’s own framing of the change, not an independent description of the new room, since the space has not reopened to press or public at the time of writing.

Is Restaurant Zén still three Michelin stars?

Yes, per its own site, a distinction it has held since 2021. Zén is one of three restaurants worldwide run by chef Björn Frantzén to hold three Michelin stars simultaneously, alongside Frantzén in Stockholm and FZN in Dubai, a combination the group states makes him the only chef to hold the distinction at three restaurants at once.

How do you book a table?

Reservations for the coming month open on the 1st of every month at 10am Singapore time. Parties of five to eight guests are asked to email [email protected] or call +65 6534 8880 directly rather than book online. The restaurant asks guests to plan for a 3.5-hour experience, and states it cannot accommodate vegan, milk-protein-free or coeliac dietary requirements.

What is not yet known?

Whether the seat count, previously stated as 23 seats across three floors, or the course structure has changed as part of the renewal is not addressed on the restaurant’s own site as of this writing. We covered the closure when it was first announced in our June guide to what diners should know, and will update this piece once the reopened room and menu are confirmed in person by press coverage.

At S$620++ for dinner, Zén sits at the top of Singapore’s tasting-menu market, and the renewal is a bet that a decade of Michelin recognition and Frantzén’s global reputation are reason enough to book into a redesigned room sight unseen. If the price already gives you pause, this is not the meal to test that on for the first time. If you have dined at Zén before and are curious what changed, the earliest way to find out is also the only way: book from the 1st of next month.
