NParks allotment garden ballot opens for plots in 13 parks until 2 November

NParks has opened its latest allotment garden ballot, with plots in 13 parks from Punggol to Clementi open to applicants until 11.59pm on Monday, 2 November. Applications for the Allotment Gardening Scheme opened at 2pm on Tuesday (20 October) and are made through AXS with Singpass, not on the NParks site.

Where the plots are

Each park has a fixed number of plots in this round. Most leases start in the second quarter of 2027.

  • Bedok Reservoir Park: 55 plots
  • Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park: 68 plots
  • Bukit Canberra: 10 plots
  • Clementi Woods Park: 68 plots
  • East Coast Park Area A: 19 plots
  • HortPark: 91 plots
  • Kent Ridge Park: 1 plot
  • Lower Seletar Reservoir Park: 34 plots
  • Punggol Waterway Park: 84 plots
  • Sembawang Park: 12 plots
  • Villa Verde Park: 29 plots
  • West Coast Park: 53 plots
  • Yishun Neighbourhood Park: 8 plots

HortPark has the most plots in this round, at 91, followed by Punggol Waterway Park with 84. Kent Ridge Park has a single plot on offer, and Yishun Neighbourhood Park has eight.

Clementi Woods Park is the exception on timing. Its allotment garden is closed for redevelopment from the second to the fourth quarter of 2027, so leases there begin in the fourth quarter of 2027.

What you get and what it costs

A plot is a raised planter bed of 2.5m by 1m, with a storage area. The fee is S$65.40 a year including GST, for a lease of up to three years. It is paid upfront, is not refundable, and stays fixed for the whole lease.

How to apply

Go to an AXS e-Station, the AXS m-Station app or an AXS kiosk, log in with Singpass and apply for one of the 13 parks. Only one application is allowed per household. The AXS hotline is 6560 2727, from 8.30am to 6pm.

You must be at least 18. Foreigners can apply, but Singapore citizens and permanent residents get priority in the ballot.

How the ballot works

Plots are balloted, so there is no choosing a specific bed and no waiting list. Successful applicants receive a Letter of Offer by email within a month of the exercise closing. Those who miss out are told within three months, and can try again in the next exercise.

Rules on the plot

Gardeners on the scheme agree to a short list of house rules:

  • Plants must stay under 1m tall
  • Chemical pesticides are not allowed
  • Water comes from shared water points, and there is no electricity supply
  • The gardener is liable if mosquito breeding is found on the plot

NParks runs more than 2,500 allotment plots across 29 parks. The next ballot exercise is planned for the second quarter of 2027.
