What NEA is forecasting
NEA said moderate to dense smoke plumes continue from fires in southern and central Sumatra and Kalimantan, with some haze drifting towards Singapore. The agency’s outlook for the 24 hours to 6pm on Thursday sits in the high moderate to low unhealthy range. Showers may ease parts of Sumatra, but dry conditions are still expected over southern Sumatra and Kalimantan.
Travel and outdoor plans
September school holidays run through 14 September 2026. Healthy adults should cut prolonged or strenuous outdoor exertion when the PSI is in the unhealthy band of 101 to 200. Children, older adults and people with heart or lung conditions should minimise outdoor exertion.
