Apple announced a new Mac mini and a new Mac Studio on 25 August 2026, and the Mac mini M6 Singapore price is already sitting on apple.com/sg. It starts at S$1,299. Mac Studio starts at S$3,499.
There is a catch, and it is a local one. Singapore was left out of the first ordering wave. Pre-orders opened in 30 countries on 25 August with deliveries from 22 September, but the Singapore product pages say customers can order “soon”, and the buy button currently reads “Check back later for availability”. Full SGD pricing, no way to pay it yet.

Stepping from the 15-core M5 Pro to the 18-core costs S$300 flat. Apple has also put a limit of two Mac minis per customer on the Singapore store.
The upgrade ladder, in SGD
This is where the base price stops meaning much, so here are the actual numbers.
- M6 memory, from 16GB: 24GB adds S$300, 32GB adds S$600. That is the M6 ceiling.
- M5 Pro memory, from 24GB: 48GB adds S$900, 64GB adds S$1,500
- M6 storage, from 256GB: 512GB adds S$300, 1TB adds S$750, 2TB adds S$1,500
- M5 Pro storage, from 512GB: 1TB adds S$450, 2TB adds S$1,200, 4TB adds S$2,700, 8TB adds S$5,700
- 10 Gigabit Ethernet adds S$150. The standard port is 2.5 Gigabit.
Storage above 2TB requires the M5 Pro. A fully loaded Mac mini, meaning M5 Pro 18-core with 64GB and 8TB and 10 Gigabit Ethernet, comes to S$10,149. At that point you are shopping in Mac Studio territory and should probably read further down.
The port difference that actually matters
The enclosure has not changed at all. Same 12.7cm square, same 5cm height, 0.67kg on M6 and 0.73kg on M5 Pro. If you already own the M4 model, nothing on your desk needs rearranging.
What differs between the two chips is the back panel. M6 gives you three Thunderbolt 4 ports at 40Gb/s. M5 Pro gives you three Thunderbolt 5 ports at 120Gb/s, which also lets you cluster multiple Mac minis together.
Both get 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet as standard, HDMI, two front USB-C ports at 10Gb/s, and a headphone jack with high-impedance support. Both also carry Apple’s N1 wireless chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, plus a new genlock-over-USB-C feature for anyone syncing multiple machines on a shoot.

Memory on the M5 Ultra goes to 256GB for another S$6,000. Storage runs to 16TB for another S$11,250. Max out the orderable options and you are looking at S$27,199, which is more than a new car COE and considerably less useful to most people.
One quirk worth knowing before you configure. The 36GB entry model uses the 32-core GPU chip and cannot take more memory. To get past 36GB you have to move to the 40-core GPU version, which is a S$900 jump from the base price.
The 512GB memory option Apple mentions for M5 Ultra is not orderable anywhere yet. Apple says late October, and no SGD price exists for it.
Mac Studio’s enclosure is also unchanged, at 19.7cm square and 2.7kg on M5 Max or 3.6kg on M5 Ultra. Ports are the reason people buy it: four rear Thunderbolt 5, two USB-A, HDMI 2.1, 10 Gigabit Ethernet as standard, an SDXC slot in front, and PCIe Gen 6 storage. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 arrive on Mac Studio for the first time.
M6 is Apple’s first 2nm chip
That is the headline for the silicon. M6 has a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator in every core, hardware ray tracing, and a dual 16-core Neural Engine that system frameworks can drive simultaneously.
Memory bandwidth is 170GB/s, though only on the 24GB and 32GB configurations. The 16GB base model runs at 153GB/s, which Apple discloses in the fine print rather than the headline.
M5 Ultra is four dies glued together
M5 Ultra is Apple’s first quad-die chip. A next-generation UltraFusion interconnect joins two dual-die M5 Max chips, with over 4.4TB/s of bandwidth between them and roughly six times the connection density, so macOS sees one processor.
That gets you up to a 36-core CPU, an 80-core GPU, a 32-core Neural Engine and 1.2TB/s of memory bandwidth, which is 50 per cent more than M3 Ultra. It also has four ProRes encode and four ProRes decode engines, enough for up to 33 simultaneous streams of 8K ProRes 422 at 30fps.
Two things Apple did not say. It has published no transistor counts for either new chip, and it has confirmed 2nm only for M6, not for M5 Ultra or M5 Max. Anyone telling you the Ultra is 2nm is guessing.
The performance claims, with their baselines attached
Every multiplier Apple quotes is measured against something specific, and the something matters. Here it is spelled out.
- Mac mini M6 versus the M4 Mac mini: up to 4x faster AI, 2x faster graphics, 2x faster storage, 40 per cent faster CPU
- M6 versus M5 in Apple’s own chip testing: 1.2x multithreaded CPU, about 30 per cent more peak GPU compute for AI, 10 per cent more memory bandwidth
- M6 versus M1: 2.4x multithreaded CPU, more than 8x peak GPU compute for AI, 2.5x memory bandwidth
- LM Studio prompt processing on M6: up to 4.8x an M4 Mac mini, up to 13.5x an M1
- Mac Studio M5 Ultra versus M3 Ultra: up to 4.3x peak AI compute, 1.8x graphics, 1.3x multithreaded CPU, 2x storage
- M5 Max versus M4 Max: up to 3.9x faster AI, with the 40-core GPU up to 50 per cent faster
- Four clustered Mac Studios: up to 3x faster AI inference than one
If you are on an M1-era machine, those numbers are the ones to look at. If you bought an M4 last year, the honest read is that the AI and graphics gains are real and the CPU gain is a 40 per cent bump, not a generational leap.
What did not get announced
No MacBook Pro, no MacBook Air, no iMac, no Mac Pro. The three press releases on 25 August covered Mac mini, Mac Studio and the chips, and none of them hinted at what comes next. M5 Max is not new either, it carries over as the entry Mac Studio chip.
Both machines ship with macOS 27 Golden Gate, which is in public beta now and free this autumn. It brings Siri AI with personal context across messages, email and photos, Visual Intelligence on a keyboard shortcut, and a new Core AI framework for running full-scale language models locally. Apple’s own footnotes say Siri AI arrives as a beta later this year, English first.
If you want one in Singapore
- Configure what you want now on apple.com/sg so you know your real number, not the base price.
- Check whether you qualify for education pricing. It is open year-round to tertiary students, newly accepted students, parents buying for them, and faculty and staff.
- Watch the buy button rather than the launch date. The 22 September date belongs to the 30 countries that opened pre-orders, and Apple has not given Singapore a date.
- If you are trading in, note that Apple Singapore does not publish Mac trade-in values. You get routed to a partner for an estimate and paid by bank transfer.
Three Apple Stores here, at Orchard Road, Jewel Changi Airport and Marina Bay Sands. None of them can tell you a stock date yet either.
