A new reason to head out after dark this National Day season: Light Together Bras Basah.Bugis (LTB) 2026 returns to illuminate the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct from 1 August to 5 September 2026, transforming familiar streets and historic buildings into something altogether more magical.
Organised by HeritageSG and held in conjunction with the Singapore Night Festival 2026, LTB 2026 is this year’s night-time celebration of National Day in one of Singapore’s most storied neighbourhoods. The theme? Local folklore — reimagined through light installations and digital experiences that bring our collective stories to life in unexpected ways.
Five locations to explore
Festival-goers can wander across five experiential zones spread through the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct:
- Artsplace @ Waterloo Centre
- Reflection Pool @ Bras Basah MRT Station
- Stamford Place
- Stamford Walkway
- National Museum of Singapore (1–12 August only)
Each location hosts its own interpretation of local folklore, making this a proper walking trail through the precinct rather than a single-spot event. Give yourself a good hour or two to take it all in.
Among the highlights is an installation by engineering firm Arup titled Better plant chilli so it won’t rain! — a playful nod to Singapore’s beloved folk belief that planting chilli around your car will keep the rain at bay. It is exactly the kind of locally resonant idea that makes LTB worth visiting.
When to go
The event runs nightly with slightly different hours depending on the day:
- Fridays and Saturdays: 7.30pm – 12 midnight
- Sundays to Thursdays: 7.30pm – 11pm
