Adult weekend ferry fares to Kusu Island are S$18 for this year’s pilgrimage season, the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) said on 25 September, down from S$22 last year. The Kusu Pilgrimage Season runs from Saturday 10 October to Sunday 8 November, with hourly ferries from Marina South Pier.
Weekday fares stay at S$16 for adults. Children aged one to 12 pay S$12 on any day, the same as last year.
Tickets
SLA encourages visitors to go on weekdays to avoid large weekend crowds.
The appointed operator is Singapore Island Cruise & Ferry Services. Tickets are sold on the Singapore Island Cruise website, where a purchase triggers a confirmation email. Show that email at the operator’s counter at Marina South Pier to collect the physical tickets. Walk-in tickets are also sold at the Kusu Pilgrimage Season counter at the pier. Pilgrimage season tickets are valid for Kusu Island only, and are non-refundable.
Ferry times
The first ferry leaves Marina South Pier at 7am. Departures run hourly, first come, first served, and the last boat out of the pier leaves at 5pm. The last ferry back leaves Kusu at 7pm. Delays are expected on weekends and public holidays.
Only Singapore Island Cruise ferries may berth at Kusu’s main jetty during the season. The island’s bumboat jetty for harbour craft has been closed since 24 April 2025.
Getting to Marina South Pier
Parking at the pier is limited. SBS Transit bus 400 stops at Marina South Pier, and the MRT station of the same name is on the North-South Line. Use Exit B.
On the island
Kusu is home to the Da Bo Gong temple and a keramat built for Syed Abdul Rahman, a 19th-century pious man, his mother Nenek Ghalib and his sister Puteri Fatimah. Devotees visit during the ninth lunar month, which is why the season moves each year. It ran from 21 October to 19 November in 2025.
Overnight stays and pets are not allowed. SLA advises comfortable clothes and shoes, and the stairs up to and down from the keramat will be open during the season. Singapore Island Cruise says the hawker centre on Kusu will open during the season.
Siong Leng Musical Association, a Nanyin group, will stage its annual heritage performance at the Chinese temple on Saturday 7 November, from 5pm to 10pm.
