GetActive! Singapore 2026 has drawn the curtain on its 11th edition, and it went out with a bang. Sport Singapore’s flagship National Day celebration through sport wrapped up on 8 August after two weeks of activity that drew more than 650,000 participants of all ages and abilities from 25 July to 8 August.

Five carnivals to close the fortnight
Residents kicked off the National Day long weekend at ActiveSG Celebrates! sport carnivals held across five Sport Centres, at Bedok, Hougang, Jurong East, Queenstown and Woodlands. Close to 15,000 visitors turned up for sport try-outs, Active Health fitness challenges, wellness stations and National Day-themed fringe activities and crafts, and there was complimentary all-day access to ActiveSG gyms and swimming pools thrown in for good measure.

The mix was deliberately broad, so there was something for everyone, from families with young children to seniors keeping active. It is exactly the kind of come-one-come-all spirit that has made the fortnight a fixture on the National Day calendar.

Queenstown Sport Centre officially reopens
The carnival at ActiveSG Queenstown Sport Centre doubled up as the official opening of the renovated facility, with Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Social and Family Development, and Grassroots Adviser to Queenstown SMC, in attendance. First opened in 1970 as Singapore’s first neighbourhood sports complex, the refreshed centre now has a new annexe building with an inclusive gym, activity rooms and free-to-play spaces, alongside a World Rugby-standard rugby field and a new dry dive facility for Team Singapore athletes.

Keeping the momentum going
If the fortnight has given you the itch to move more, the good news is that ActiveSG programmes run all year round. It is a fitting way to round off a National Day season that has celebrated community through sport.
