Etihad Airways’ flagship Airbus A380 touched down in Bangkok for the first time on 26 October 2026, kicking off daily A380 services between Abu Dhabi and the Thai capital. The Etihad A380 Bangkok service also brings The Residence, the world’s only three-room suite in the sky, to Thailand for the first time.

Why the A380 matters on the Abu Dhabi to Bangkok route
The A380 adds capacity on a popular leisure route as the peak winter travel season begins, supporting demand between Thailand, the Middle East and Europe. Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said Thailand is an important premium market and that deploying the flagship aircraft lets the airline add capacity while bringing its most distinctive guest experience to the route.
Bangkok follows the introduction of daily A380 services between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo in June 2026, as Etihad expands its presence in Asia.

Inside the Etihad A380: The Residence, First, Business and Economy
The Residence is the pinnacle: a 125-square-foot private suite for up to two guests, with a separate living room with a reclining two-seater sofa, a bedroom with a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with a full-height shower. The experience includes Etihad Chauffeur and access to a private lounge suite in Abu Dhabi.
First has nine private Apartments on a single aisle, each 39 square feet with sliding doors, a Poltrona Frau leather reclining chair and an ottoman that converts into an 80.5-inch bed. Guests also get a 24-inch touchscreen, an onboard shower room and à la carte dining.

The upper deck has 70 Business seats that convert into 80-inch lie-flat beds, with an in-seat massage function, an 18.5-inch touchscreen and LANEIGE amenities in Etihad’s new Destination Collection kit. Business guests can also use The Lobby, the serviced lounge and bar between the First and Business cabins.
Economy seats 415 guests, with 18.95-inch-wide seats, six inches of recline and 32 inches of legroom, an 11.1-inch touchscreen and USB charging. Neighbour-Free seating gives travellers the option of extra personal space.
