Deepavali 2026: Little India light-up ceremony on 3 October, Festival Village from 10 October

Little India’s Deepavali lights switch on at 7pm on Saturday, 3 October 2026, with the Street Light-Up Ceremony on Birch Road run by the Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (LISHA). The guest of honour is to be confirmed.

The light-up stretches over 2km of Serangoon Road and is switched on daily from 7pm to midnight throughout the festival. Traditional music and dance performances follow the ceremony, which opens LISHA’s Deepavali Thiruvizha 2026 programme.

Festival Village and free music

The Festival Village runs on Campbell Lane from 10 October to 8 November 2026, from 7pm. It closes on Deepavali itself, ahead of the Monday public holiday.

Free live music returns as Sangeetham Under the Stars on the Campbell Lane Open Stage on Saturday, 17 October, and Saturday, 31 October, both from 8pm to 10pm. The line-up covers Carnatic classical, fusion sessions, Bollywood beats and an emerging artists showcase.

Workshops at Tekka Place and Campbell Lane

The Brass Lamp Engraving Workshop at Tekka Place runs on 10 and 24 October, from 10am to 1pm, at S$10 a person, with 20 places. Participants personalise a miniature kuthuvilakku brass lamp with pattern hammering and decorative etching, under master craftsmen.

Clay Diya Painting is also at Tekka Place on 17 and 31 October, from 2pm to 4pm, and a Spice Blending Masterclass takes place on Campbell Lane on the same two Saturdays.

Public holidays

Deepavali falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026, and Monday, 9 November 2026, is a public holiday.
