Outdoor and non-air-conditioned facilities at all ActiveSG sport centres closed from noon on Friday, 16 October, as the haze worsened, CNA reported. Indoor and air-conditioned facilities remain open. Sport Singapore’s haze advisory lists the closures as effective until further notice.

The islandwide closure widens earlier, regional shutdowns. CNA reported that on 15 October, outdoor and non-air-conditioned facilities at ActiveSG sport centres in the west, south and central regions shut as a precaution based on 24-hour PSI readings, and closures later spread to the east. West venues included Bukit Batok, Bukit Gombak, Clementi, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong East, Jurong West, Jurong Lake Gardens and Sport Village @ Jurong Town. Central and south venues included Bishan, Burghley Tennis and Squash Centre, Delta, MOE Evans, Queenstown and ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee. On the morning of 16 October, outdoor facilities in the east and central regions were shut while the north, south and west stayed open, before SportSG extended the closure to every sport centre at noon.
Air quality is still unhealthy
The 24-hour PSI remains at unhealthy levels or worse. At 5am on 16 October, the 24-hour PSI on data.gov.sg stood at 219 in the central region, 190 in the west, 189 in the east, 176 in the south and 143 in the north. Central sits in the very unhealthy band, above 200, and the other four regions are in the unhealthy band of 101 to 200.
SportSG will adjust facility operations as the haze changes. The latest closure list is on the ActiveSG Circle website.
