I’m Wilber, and I’m thrilled to review the HONOR Magic V3! Having reviewed many HONOR phones, including the HONOR Magic6 Pro, HONOR 200 Pro and HONOR Magic V2, I can confidently say the HONOR Magic V3 combines the best of both worlds into one remarkable device.
First Impressions
The HONOR Magic V2 was known for its ultra-slim profile, and even with newer models from competitors like Samsung, HONOR retains its edge in this area. The newly launched HONOR Magic V3 is currently the thinnest and lightest foldable phone on the market. Measuring just 9.2mm thick when folded, 4.35mm when unfolded, and weighing 226g, it sets a new standard in foldable phone design.
Some of my close friends own older foldable phones from Samsung and Oppo, and they were genuinely impressed with the HONOR Magic V3.

Large, Foldable Display: The foldable display is perfect for consuming content while maintaining a slim, portable design. When folded, the external screen size matches that of a traditional smartphone, offering great versatility.
During my testing, I found that I didn’t use the full screen most of the time. However, it’s reassuring to know that the flexibility to switch to the full screen is available whenever I need it.
Battery Life: The 5,150mAh battery (upgraded from 5,000mAh) ensures all-day use. Charging is also a breeze with its fast charging.
Biometric Security: Enjoy enhanced security with both a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and facial recognition.
Colour Options
The HONOR Magic V3 is available in three stunning colors: Mossy Green, Silk Brown, and Classic Black. These options exude elegance and class, making the phone look truly premium.
By the way, this shade of dark green is my personal favourite.
Design and Display
Once again earning the title of the world’s thinnest foldable phone, the HONOR Magic V3 impresses with its sleek design, weighing only 226g and measuring a mere 4.35mm when unfolded.
It features a vibrant 7.92-inch foldable OLED inner display and a 6.43-inch external OLED screen, both with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance. The advanced AI Defocus technology reduces eye strain, making the phone comfortable to use for extended periods.
Performance
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and paired with 12GB of RAM, the Magic V3 delivers exceptional performance for both daily tasks and demanding applications. It runs on MagicOS 8.0, based on Android 14, which includes features like Magic Capsule and Magic Portal for enhanced multitasking.
Cameras
The Magic V3 features an impressive triple-camera setup:
- 50MP Main Sensor: Excels in low-light conditions, capturing vibrant and detailed shots.
- 50MP Periscope Telephoto Lens: Ideal for zoom photography.
- 40MP Ultra-Wide Lens: Great for landscape and group shots.
Additionally, dual 20MP front cameras make selfies and video calls sharp and clear.

Battery and Charging
The phone houses a 5,150mAh silicon-carbon battery, supported by 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The battery easily lasts a full day under normal use and charges completely in under an hour.
Verdict
The HONOR Magic V3 raises the bar for foldable smartphones with its slim design, advanced features, and competitive pricing. While multitasking and ultra-wide camera performance could improve, it remains a stellar choice for those seeking a premium foldable experience.
Features from previous models, like the Magic Portal from the HONOR Magic6 Pro and the HONOR 200 series, have been carried over and enhanced with upgrades like IPX8 water resistance, improved camera lenses, and fast wireless charging support.
The HONOR Magic V3 is also fully fitted with Google services, ensuring access to a wide range of apps and enhancing the device’s overall functionality.
At just S$1,999 (for the 512GB model), the HONOR Magic V3 offers incredible value, especially when competitors charge significantly more.
Whether you’re new to foldable phones or looking to upgrade, the HONOR Magic V3 is a fantastic option that builds on the strong foundation of the Magic V2 while taking the experience to the next level.
