Etihad’s A380 lands in Bangkok for the first time, bringing The Residence to Thailand

Etihad Airways’ flagship Airbus A380 touched down in Bangkok for the first time on 26 October 2026, kicking off daily A380 services between Abu Dhabi and the Thai capital. The Etihad A380 Bangkok service also brings The Residence, the world’s only three-room suite in the sky, to Thailand for the first time.

Why the A380 matters on the Abu Dhabi to Bangkok route

The A380 adds capacity on a popular leisure route as the peak winter travel season begins, supporting demand between Thailand, the Middle East and Europe. Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said Thailand is an important premium market and that deploying the flagship aircraft lets the airline add capacity while bringing its most distinctive guest experience to the route.

Bangkok follows the introduction of daily A380 services between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo in June 2026, as Etihad expands its presence in Asia.
