Healthier SG will test care models that pair traditional Chinese medicine practitioners with family doctors, with a pilot targeted for the first half of 2027. MOH has received 30 proposals for the Healthier SG-TCM Proof of Concept, set out by Health Minister Ong Ye Kung at the 23rd World Congress of Chinese Medicine on 17 October.

MOH invited proposals from practitioners earlier this year. MOH is shortlisting applications for further discussion, with the aim of launching the Proof of Concept in the first half of next year.
Why TCM, and why prevention
The pilot sits inside Healthier SG’s preventive push, which pairs each resident with a regular family doctor. Mr Ong described the strategy as a shift “from treating sickness after it occurs to helping people stay healthy for as long as possible”.
TCM practitioners already guide patients on diet, exercise and daily habits, which overlaps with modern preventive medicine and the growing use of social prescription. The Proof of Concept will test how collaborative care between TCM practitioners and general practitioners could work in practice.
What Healthier SG offers now
None of this changes the scheme today. Healthier SG is open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 40 and above, and people with pre-existing health conditions are not excluded.
Enrolment runs through the HealthHub app in three steps:
- Enrol in the app after receiving MOH’s SMS invitation.
- Choose a Healthier SG clinic from the list in HealthHub.
- Book the first Health Plan consultation, which is fully subsidised.
Residents who have not received the SMS can request it at go.gov.sg/healthiersg-sms-invite or call the MOH hotline on 6325 9220. Family members can also enrol a parent through HealthHub’s caregiver access, and Healthier SG Ambassadors at enrolment stations help those who need it in person.
The Health Plan is where activity comes in. The family doctor draws up a personalised Health Plan with each enrolee, and Healthier SG links residents to community programmes on the Healthy 365 app, including HPB’s free MOVE IT workouts. Since 1 February 2024, the Healthier SG Chronic Tier has also given eligible enrolees bigger subsidies for chronic conditions at their enrolled clinic.
A second TCM track
The pilot is separate from the TCM Accreditation Programme that MOH opened on the same day. From 17 October, TCM clinics and individual practitioners can apply for voluntary accreditation, and a second call for proposals under the TCM Integrative Sandbox starts on 3 November 2026.
