Great World’s Konnichiwa Autumn fair runs until 25 October, with a Japan market of seven brands, matsuri games and a Fukubiki draw for return flights to Japan on Japan Airlines. The Konnichiwa Autumn programme started on 9 October in the Level 1 atrium of the mall at 1 Kim Seng Promenade, which opens from 10am to 10pm daily.

A Japan market in the atrium
The market brings together Baskin Robbins, Gyoko Matcha, Orchid Sake Brewery, TSURU, Warabi Mochi Kamakura and YOKU MOKU. Sake Bar by Meidi-Ya Japanese Supermarket has a stall as well, alongside more vendors.
Meidi-Ya also runs a mochi pounding session at 2pm on Saturday 17 October. On the first weekend, the supermarket held a sake breaking ceremony, and Sendai Suzume Odori dancers performed in the atrium. That weekend also had a ninja appearance, a Daruma charm workshop and two short sets by the JAS Chorus.
Fukubiki draw for flights to Japan
Every S$80 spent earns one chance in the autumn Fukubiki draw. The first prize is a pair of return tickets to Japan on Japan Airlines, worth S$7,500, plus a two-night stay in a Horizon Club Deluxe Room at Shangri-La Tokyo with Horizon Club access, worth S$3,200. Japan Airlines and Shangri-La Tokyo sponsor the first prize.
The second prize is a pair of return tickets to Tokyo on Japan Airlines, worth S$2,740 and sponsored by Price Breaker.
Matsuri games and the Fortune Cat Gachapon
Three game stations sit in the atrium: ring toss, fish scooping and a giant sushi pick-up. Shoppers get three game chances in one of three ways: a single same-day receipt of S$30, 500 Great Rewards points, or S$5.
Clearing all three stations earns a turn at the Fortune Cat Gachapon. Its prizes include Baskin Robbins puffy stickers and Great Rewards points.
Kimono, ninjas and workshops on the last two weekends
Kimono try-ons run from 12pm to 6pm every Saturday and Sunday until the fair ends. Each weekend afternoon also has a craft workshop, open to shoppers with a S$30 single same-day receipt.
On Saturday 17 October, a Yosakoi dance group performs at 1pm, the DIY oil umbrella workshop starts at 3pm and children perform Japanese dances at 4pm. Sunday 18 October has Yosakoi at 1pm, a ninja appearance at 2pm, a kawaii bag patch workshop at 3pm and the children’s dances at 4pm.
The last weekend opens with a ninja at 1pm on Saturday 24 October, followed by the children’s dances at 2pm, a Daruma charm workshop at 3pm and live music from Ryna & Eric Duo (R.E.D) from 4pm to 5pm. On Sunday 25 October, Yosakoi dancers perform at 1pm, PopDream plays from 2pm to 3pm, the oil umbrella workshop returns at 3pm and R.E.D closes the fair with a set from 4pm to 5pm.
