MOE DipEd September application window stays open to 28 September

MOE’s September window to apply for the Diploma in Education stays open through 28 September 2026. The route is for A-Level, polytechnic diploma or IB diploma holders who intend to teach in primary schools.

Apply via MOE Careers for the Education Officer (without teaching qualifications) role. Outcomes for this window are due from 30 September, with interviews expected in October and November 2026.

What the pathway looks like

DipEd is a sponsored two-year full-time programme at NIE. Before training starts, successful applicants complete a compulsory contract teaching stint so both sides can check the fit. After DipEd, teachers serve a three-year bond in primary schools.

For the September 2026 window, the earliest date to assume duty is listed as June or July 2027, with the earliest possible NIE intake in July 2028. MOE says those dates can shift with processing and NIE’s training schedule.

Typical entry paths include at least two A-Level or H2 passes plus two AO-Level or H1 passes including General Paper or Knowledge and Inquiry, a polytechnic diploma, an IB diploma, or equivalent qualifications. Male applicants need to finish full-time National Service before applying.

Selection can include an interview, entrance proficiency tests and a medical examination paid for by the Ministry. The September application window closes on 28 September 2026.
