SWDA opens Connect centre and 200+ AI courses with six months of free premium tools

Singapore’s workforce agency on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, opened Connect by SWDA at the Lifelong Learning Institute and published more than 200 AI-related courses, with a six-month premium AI tool subscription for eligible citizens who enrol and attend.

Channel NewsAsia reported the launch as part of SkillsFuture Festival 2026, which runs from 16 September to 28 October. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong spoke at the festival opening on the same day.

What Connect offers

Connect by SWDA is a careers and skills centre with advisors and AI-supported recommendations. Appointments sit upstairs at the Lifelong Learning Institute. A separate OurWorkforce portal is meant for employers and replaces the older SkillsFuture for Business site.

The free AI subscription

Eligible Singapore citizens aged 18 and above who take a qualifying AI course can redeem one six-month subscription. Options named in coverage include ChatGPT Plus, Google AI Pro, Manus AI, Microsoft 365 Personal and Singtel AI Pass. Courses that qualify are labelled on MySkillsFuture; attendance triggers the redemption email.

Why it matters this week

SWDA now combines the old SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore customer journeys under one agency. The practical step for readers is to filter MySkillsFuture for the free-AI label, book a course that starts from September 2026, and keep the redemption window once the email arrives.
