Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a first-time finish from the edge of the box after Rio Ngumoha cut the ball back. Cody Gakpo made it 2-0 in the 54th minute, driving across goal from inside the area.

Conor Gallagher headed Spurs back into the tie from a corner in the 69th minute. Giorgi Mamardashvili then denied Omar Marmoush late on, before substitute Dominik Szoboszlai lashed in from about 25 yards in stoppage time to settle it.
