Leeds thrash Newcastle 4-1 at Elland Road on 14 September

Leeds United beat Newcastle United 4-1 at Elland Road on Monday night, 14 September 2026, and stayed unbeaten after four Premier League matches. The scorers were Lewis Miley (own goal, 32), Jayden Bogle (34), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (45) and Noah Okafor (59), with Bazoumana Touré replying for Newcastle in the 90th minute.

Attendance was 36,693 under the lights. Michael Salisbury took charge. Leeds led 3-0 at the break after a fast half that began with Miley deflecting Ao Tanaka’s shot into his own net, then Bogle finishing from James Justin’s delivery, then Calvert-Lewin bundling home just before half-time.

Okafor added the fourth on the hour with a strike from the edge of the box after a set-piece. Touré’s late goal was Newcastle’s only reply. Daniel Farke’s side had already gone close several times through Bogle and Calvert-Lewin before the first goal stood.

Leeds used Melvin Bard for his Elland Road debut from the bench and brought on Brenden Aaronson, Harry Wilson, Lukas Nmecha and Daniel James late on. Newcastle made a triple change around the hour and still finished a goal short of a share of the points.

Full time at Elland Road: Leeds United 4, Newcastle United 1.
