OneMotoring recorded 4,776 bids against a total quota of 3,253. Successful bids were 1,152 in Category A, 910 in Category B, 306 in Category C, 495 in Category D and 300 in Category E.
Who the premiums hit
From the May 2022 first exercise onwards, Category A covers non-fully electric cars up to 1,600cc and 97kW (130bhp), and fully electric cars up to 110kW. Cars above those limits take Category B. Category C covers goods vehicles and buses. Category D covers motorcycles. Category E is open for all except motorcycles and usually ends up on larger cars.
New registrations pay the quota premium from the exercise that produced the Temporary COE. Renewals pay the prevailing quota premium (PQP). The LTA sheet lists September PQP at S$126,208 in Category A and S$128,697 in Category B.
Versus the last exercise
Category A rose S$4,508, or 3.5 per cent, from S$128,501 on 19 August, and cleared the previous record of S$129,000 set on 8 July this year. Category B rose 3.1 per cent, Category C 3.4 per cent, Category D 11.1 per cent and Category E 2.1 per cent.
The August to October 2026 quota remains 19,085, 0.2 per cent above the previous quarter’s 19,052. The first September exercise sat after a three-week gap from the second August round, as flagged on the LTA 2026 bidding schedule and in the 7 September opening brief.
After the exercise, the Land Transport Authority said COE prices remain elevated because of the three-week period since the last exercise, and urged buyers and dealers to be prudent in bidding for COEs.

Next bidding window
The official 2026 schedule lists September’s second exercise as opening at 12 noon on Monday, 21 September, and closing at 4pm on Wednesday, 23 September.
